2016 Terracea Spring Mountain District Riesling
Terracea profiles Riesling from the terraced volcanic ridges of Napa Valley’s Spring Mountain District. This mountainous area’s more extreme temperatures accentuate the varietal characteristics of Riesling and preserve a vibrant acidity. Laura balances this acid by stopping fermentation before all the fruit’s natural sugar is consumed and by aging the wine on the lees for several months. The finished wine has a creamy minerality with remarkable intensity—bright, compelling and unique.
“The 2016 Galerie Terracea is a lightly golden wine that shows vibrant aromas of rose petal, lychee, ripe juicy peach, orange confiture, wild flowers and lavender honey. This wine has a full palate, silky texture and beautiful acidity that enhances the long taste of ripe stone fruit, honey and flowers.”
- Winemaker Laura Díaz Muñoz
The Riesling’s tropical fruit and ginger aromas complement this citrusy ceviche, and the wine’s touch of residual sugar balances the subtle chile heat.
